Maintenance engineer

We are looking for a maintenance engineer for our client in Opmeer. This is a producer of processing and packaging meat products. This involves meat products that are mostly used as toppings. This is supplied to well-known supermarkets and chain shops.

As a maintenance technician in the Technical Department, you are responsible for maintaining and improving a modern and innovative machine park.
You are passionate about technology and eager to contribute to optimization efforts. You understand that the technical department is crucial for ensuring the smooth and uninterrupted operation of machinery and installations.

Your tasks include:

• Performing both corrective and preventive maintenance on machines and installations
• Resolving malfunctions through inspections, analysis, and (dis)assembly of parts
• Testing functionality and delivering installations ready for operation
• Logging malfunctions, materials used, and hours worked in the maintenance system
• Consulting with users on sustainable use of machines and installations
• Identifying and suggesting improvements to the maintenance process
• Working according to guidelines for quality, food safety, machine safety, and occupational health (ARBO)

The work may take place in environments with varying temperatures, humidity, noise, and contact with sharp components. Wearing personal protective equipment is mandatory.

You will be part of a team of technical specialists with a broad understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering.

• Thinks and works at MTS level (mechanical and/or electrical engineering)
• Has affinity with electrical engineering and/or metalworking
• Is proactive and independently identifies and solves issues
• Works accurately in accordance with safety and quality procedures
• Can communicate clearly in English (Dutch is a plus)
• Is a team player, flexible, and result-oriented
