At Flexible Human Services, we have a large fleet of vehicles. Every day, our drivers transport employees to and from work. Besides cars and vans, we also have a touring car. The touring car drives from the top of North Holland all the way to the bollenstreek to transport the employees. It is a challenge to keep all these vehicles under control. Ctrack is an organization that helps us with this. Would you like to know more? Watch the interview with René Does, Transport Manager here.
Flexible Human Services looks ahead!
A new year means a fresh start for many people, especially considering the past year. Many people are happy to draw a thick line through 2020 and are ready for a new beginning! That includes good resolutions, of course. Every day can be January 1st for you. You don't necessarily have to wait for a new year or a specific date; you can start NOW with good plans.
Specific, Realistic, Measurable, Acceptable and Time-bound. A good resolution (business or private) works well for the longer term. This also applies to any other objective: Be specific and realistic; make the goal measurable, acceptable, and time-bound. If you can determine whether a goal is realistic, you will then have to make that goal specific. This makes it a lot clearer what you actually need to do to achieve it. Specific goals are also more motivating and achievable than vague goals.
Hopefully you will be inspired. FHS also challenges other companies to announce their good intentions for 2021.
We wish everyone happy holidays and a wonderful and healthy 2021!
Have you seen our Christmas video yet? Watch it here!
Talent comes in all forms, and you can recognize it by a number of characteristics:
Talent is innate and there is a natural aptitude: in short, you were born with it
It is a gift or there is a special aptitude
You gain skills through experience, you acquire knowledge, but you develop talents because you already had them when you were in the cradle
At Flexible Human Services, we listen carefully to our people. We believe in letting people do what they are good at; the right people in the right place.
During these Christmas days, we wish you a pleasant time to be together with family and friends, to rest and hopefully discover that everyone has the talent to sparkle, shine and glimmer.
That is what we mean by: Talent to… sparkle!
Talent to …. Celebrate Christmas!
Receiving Christmas gifts evokes positive feelings in most cases. The vast majority get the feeling that they are appreciated.
The traditional moment of appreciation remains Christmas, of course. Despite the fact that some companies had postponed arranging their Christmas packages for a while, the demand for traditional Dutch Christmas packages remained high. Because when times are turbulent, nothing is as nice as traditions and nostalgia.
At Flexible Human Services, we believe that a Christmas package is a must. A Christmas package is a tradition that fortunately remains and gains extra value in special times. Our employees and temporary employees will also not be forgotten.
This time is very busy for us. We have several Christmas package suppliers as clients. For these companies, it means that this client has taken responsibility and has taken various hygiene and other measures. In addition, the working environment is cleaned extra often. Fortunately, we can place a large number of temporary workers at these companies, as we do every year. We have carefully chosen this supplier for one of our own Christmas packages. Brood van Nu is our neighbor. They have been with us on the business park since 2012. The fact that they bake artisanal bread and pay attention to honest ingredients also influenced our choice of Frits and Edwin. Brood van Nu is happy with the collaboration with FHS. This ensures that the products, made with a great deal of love, reach various (potential) customers. Flexible Human Services has partnerships in various Industries. Big in logistics, production, Agricultural, Food industry and also in the technical sector.
Flexible Human Services signs sponsorship contract with The Bassets and helps Dierenhoeve with this
Last week, Flexible Human Services signed a sponsorship contract with Rugby club The Bassets.
The contact has been good over the years and this time too a future-proof agreement has been signed.
"We are a social company and also like to give back to society, including for the Dierenhoeve care and children's farm in Noordwijkerhout. The Dierenhoeve needs a few strong hands, and Rugbyclub The Bassets has them. A number of men will take on a number of jobs such as paving, putting up a wooden wall and spreading the manure heap. We are happy that we can help each other in this way and also mean something for the Dierenhoeve," says Nathalie Geerlings, commercial director proudly.
At the signing of the sponsorship deal, Jan Hoes, Sponsoring Manager at Rugby Club The Bassets, hands over the well-known oval rugby ball. "Thank you, Jan," Nathalie responds cheerfully. "But in our business we stick to it: 'The ball is round!'. An expression to indicate that a match is not always won by the strongest.
Talent to…support Rugbyclub The Bassets in Sassenheim was founded in 1978. In the following 39 years, the association has grown into one of the largest rugby clubs in the Netherlands. The Bassets also has a large and very active youth department.
Talent to…grow De Dierenhoeve is the care and children's farm in Noordwijkerhout and the place where children and families can enjoy a day out. It is easy to reach. At the Dierenhoeve you can find all kinds of different animals and enjoy the delicacies in Het Koffiehuis. In addition, De Dierenhoeve also offers a safe work environment for people with a distance to the labor market.
Talent to…. Make it happen "I am proud of what we have achieved together in those 18 years," Nathalie adds. "Proud of the years of trust that our customers have given us. Proud of our identity. We have grown. Where in 2002 we may have had 50 to 70 people working, in 2020, on peak days, there are approximately 200 companies. But we still work with the same philosophy as 18 years ago, ensuring every day that the right person ends up in the right place. Because only if things are well organized for you can you start to feel at home somewhere. Only if you feel at home somewhere can you get the best out of yourself."
The (employment) market and the world around us are changing rapidly and new rules and legislation are added every year. The way the employment agency industry responds to this is increasingly a point of discussion. "It is our job to stay ahead when it comes to transparency in working methods and processes. But much more importantly, we work with people and prepare for the future generation and that is really the best thing there is!"
Have you seen the Flexible Human Services touring car driving around?
The Flexible Human Services touring car has been driving through the bollenstreek for a while now. From the head of North Holland to Westland, we ensure daily that our employees are ready on time at our clients. In the bollenstreek region, there is a scarcity in the area of housing, hence this solution. Flexible Human Services proudly facilitates where client and temporary employee meet, with an eye for our people!
Every month we visit a beautiful place in the bollenstreek. The starting point is the FHS office in Noordwijkerhout.
Use of E-bikes for a healthy lifestyle
In addition to work, housing and further Social Guidance in the Netherlands, we also take care of transportation for the temporary employees. Depending on the distance and circumstances, we determine which means of transport will be used. Besides our extensive fleet of cars, buses and a real FHS touring car, we also use bicycles daily. We are in favor of the bicycle because it is more environmentally friendly. We also want to contribute to the environment. In addition, the use of bicycles contributes to a healthy lifestyle for our temporary employees. Regular physical exercise has many advantages! That is why we have looked internally at how we can get even more people on bicycles. In addition to regular bicycles, we started a new project in July, the deployment of electric bicycles/e-bikes. Currently, more than 130 temporary employees cycle to work daily on an e-bike. For some temporary employees it takes some getting used to, but they experience it as very positive. The use of e-bikes creates new processes internally. A nice challenge that we tackle with both hands!
Mouth mask project: are you participating too?
FHS also wants to contribute in these times of the corona crisis. Not everyone can work from home. Our temporary workers who work in vital sectors, such as the food industry, are working hard to keep up with the increased demand. We are extremely proud of them and their hard work! Their health is our priority. That is why not only have various hygiene measures been taken per workplace, but FHS has also started a mouth mask project!
What does the mouth mask project entail?
Employees and others who want to help are sewing the face masks themselves using starter kits provided by FHS and simple instructions on YouTube. The face masks are made of fabric and include a filter. We provide the face masks to our temporary workers, so they can work safely! But we like to think ahead and want to tackle it on a larger scale: we also like to donate the face masks to nursing homes, hospitals and other charities. We do need your help with that!
How can you help?
Would you like to help sew face masks and do your bit? We'd love that! You can register via nathalie@fhs.jobs. We will then send you a starter kit.
Do you know a (local) institution that could use the face masks? We would also love to hear about this via nathalie@fhs.jobs.
Every little helps and we hope we can count on you! Thanks in advance.
Sharing is greatly appreciated.
Coronavirus in the Netherlands
It is becoming increasingly clear that the coronavirus has major social and economic consequences. These are exciting times for our clients in the floriculture sector, while our clients in the food industry are running at full speed.
Flexible Human Services is making the necessary adjustments: as a precaution, a medical specialist is available 24/7. Based on his expertise, we make all our decisions regarding the coronavirus. In the office, we are spread across the work floor to maintain distance, and we observe hygiene measures.
As an employer for our temporary workers, we are very happy to see that clients are taking measures to prioritize the health of our temporary workers. Stricter hygiene measures, adjusted break schedules to maintain sufficient distance, and regular temperature checks. Many companies have information about adapted hygiene protocols available in the native language of the temporary workers.
Times like these call for cooperation between all parties. That is why we are always available for our temporary workers and clients to come up with appropriate solutions. As you would expect from us!
Together we will overcome this again!
Anniversary party for long-service employees
Sustainable business practices
Like many other companies and individuals, Flexible Human Services would also like to contribute to a better environment by making smart choices. In this context, we have had 80 solar panels installed on the flat roof of our office building. This is how we contribute to the generation of sustainable energy.
In addition, we will focus more on separating our business waste in the future, and we will no longer drink our coffee from paper cups, but from mugs. Various areas in the office are equipped with motion sensors, so that the light is not left on unnecessarily. Finally, we prefer to work with local suppliers: not only do we stimulate the local economy in this way, but we also reduce the burden on the environment because the products or services travel a shorter distance.
In our profession, sustainable business is also about establishing lasting relationships with our employees and – in particular – temporary workers. This is also becoming an increasingly important pillar for Flexible Human Services.
We are curious: how do you contribute?
Bollenstreek Business Open 2019
Flexible Human Services was present at the very first edition of the Bollenstreek Business Open. It was a great golf event that connects entrepreneurs and organizations from the region. It took place at the Haarlemmermeersche Golf Club. Flexible Human Services sponsored Hole 8 Lynden. This is a treacherous hole, with a large water hazard and two bunkers on either side of the green. Participants regularly lost their golf balls in the water. Flexible Human Services was there to offer them a set of new golf balls.
Sponsorship of Rijnsburgse Boys
Flexible Human Services signs 3-year sponsorship agreement with Rijnsburgse Boys! Towards a wonderful, fruitful collaboration!⚽ Cees Driebergen on behalf of Rijnsburgse Boys and Nico Geerlings & Simone Wolfswinkel on behalf of Flexible Human Services.
Theme evening on housing for migrant workers
The theme evening on Migrant Housing, organized by a municipality in the Duin- en bollenstreek, made it clear that labor migrants are desperately needed in the Dutch economy. Flexible Human Services and some of its clients had their say. They explained why migrant workers are indispensable in their companies, and why solutions for housing these employees need to be considered.
Not in my backyard
The 'Not-In-My-Backyard' principle often applies to the housing of migrant workers: people don't want to be bothered by the housing of migrant workers, but they do reap the benefits of their arrival – often without even knowing it. It is migrant workers who pack the peeled carrots we cook with in the evening, who plant the hyacinth bulbs that we like to bring into our homes in the spring, and who pack the packages when we shop online.
Inconspicuous
For the consumer, it is not clear that these actions are performed by human hands, and whose hands they are. That is why it is so good to pay more attention to the role of the migrant worker. This gives those hands a face, and it becomes clear that those who pack the carrots, plant hyacinths, and send packages also need to live somewhere!
New bicycles put into use
Every temporary worker who lives at Flexwonen.nu and works at Flexible Human Services is provided with a bicycle. Temporary workers are always housed as close as possible to their work. This is more pleasant for the temporary worker and also better for the environment: if the temporary worker lives within 10km of his work, he can cycle to work.
In addition, having a bicycle is important for the temporary worker to increase freedom of movement: you can easily cycle into the village, do some shopping, or go to the beach in good weather. It is ideal to have a bicycle in a country where the infrastructure is also designed for cyclists, of course!
Flexwonen takes responsibility for the repairs of the bicycles. The temporary worker only has to report the defect to the manager of his housing location, and it will be repaired for him or her. Flexwonen also regularly invests in renewing the 'bicycle fleet', as can be seen in the photo above.
Company film Flexible Human Services
Flexible Human Services has a new company film! This short video clearly shows what we stand for. We believe that investing in the talent of our employees ensures that they can grow and that they are of greater added value to the client where they work. We invest in talent in various ways.
Training
It is possible to take Dutch and English language courses at FHS. These lessons are offered free of charge in a special classroom at the head office in Noordwijkerhout. By learning Dutch or English, it becomes easier to make yourself understood at work, but also outside of work. This stimulates integration in the Netherlands. It is also possible to obtain various certificates, such as a certificate to drive forklifts.
Housing
The housing of employees is arranged through Flexwonen.nu. This organization ensures that the homes in which employees live are fully equipped. Privacy, safety and hygiene are paramount. There are many studios in which a maximum of two people live. This type of accommodation is ideal for, for example, a couple or two female friends. The studios have their own kitchen and bathroom. A manager is assigned to each housing location. This is the first point of contact for questions or comments regarding the property. Flexwonen believes that fair housing, good management and clear rules ensure that everyone can live together pleasantly.
Mud Run 2019
As every year, the Mud Run took place again this year. A real Noordwijkerhout event, organized by De Vikings. Flexible Human Services has been a shirt sponsor for years. Just like the participants of the Mud Run, we are not afraid to tackle things!
Photos of office opening
You can find the photos taken at the Flexible Human Services office opening on May 17th via this link.
On May 17, the office building of Flexible Human Services was reopened. FHS takes care of the back office of NoordWest3. The building, located at Slijperij 12, Noorwijkerhout, has been expanded with an upper floor. The ground floor has also been expanded in terms of surface area. The interior has been completely renovated and furnished, with a classroom where temporary employees and office employees receive Dutch lessons, an office garden with permanent workplaces and flexible workplaces, two beautiful meeting rooms and a spacious canteen. The building had become too small after more and more new employees had been recruited in recent years.
Clients, partners and office employees were present at the office opening. Under the leadership of Alderman Theo Meskers, the new building was officially opened. This was followed by guided tours, delicious Dutch and Polish catering, live music, and above all, lots of fun.
Thank you for your presence and the many beautiful gifts! We enjoyed it.
