Open eyes: without the migrant worker, the economy is stalled

Open your eyes: we are increasingly dependent on migrant workers and the idea of displacement in the labor market is long gone. This is work that Dutch people are unwilling or unable to pick up. This labor shortage is expected to be filled with an additional 50,000 migrants annually.

But, says NOS, we will have to pull out all the stops to remain attractive to migrant workers, because without them "the economy is heartbroken.

Especially in the area of housing, the Netherlands is in danger of pricing itself out of the market. FHS sees the importance of clean and safe housing that complies with the SNF-quality mark, and calls for eyes to be opened: we cannot do without migrant workers and they cannot do without good housing. So it is in the public interest to provide more good housing for this vital population.
