The story behind more than 20 years of FHS

Flexible Human services has been around for more than 20 years. In all those years, there have been a lot of appointment worthy moments. Check out a timeline of special moments that make up the story of FHS.

2002

FHS Established

Flexible Human Services was founded by brothers Nico, Rob and Sjaak Geerlings.
Offices were held in a construction shack on the premises of G. Geerlings & Zn.
The very first customers who, by the way, are still customers are: Warmerdam Spoelbedrijf, De Menken Keuken and De Ree.

2002

First Baby

First FHS-baby Wioletta Sowarka is born on Sollasi. Daughter of Piotr and Sylwia who met each other at FHS.

2003

First Employees Party

The first staff party is celebrated at the Hilvo. Nico gave a speech while Beata translates into Polish.

2004

Office Relocation

The 'shed' is too small. The FHS office is moving to the 'Synopsis' building on the 's Gravendamseweg in Noordwijkerhout.

2005

Purchase of large accommodation location

In Alphen aan den Rijn, a large accommodation location is purchased, housing 150 temporary workers.

2005

Sinterklaas

Since 2005, Sinterklaas has been celebrated every year with all the children of the staff of FHS.

SKIA

FHS receives the SKIA certificate, the quality mark for international job placement.

2006

Growth

Due to continued growth, Flexible Human Services is moving to the new and current location on the Slijperij in Noordwijkerhout.

2006

VIA

Nico becomes a board member of the Association of International Employment Agencies.

2008

Assistance

FHS travels to Poland to provide emergency aid to the affected area, caused by a tornado.

2009

VVSB

All FHS vans are parked at VVSB for promotional purposes and are regularly used for transporting players.

2009

SKIA

Nico becomes president of SKIA, the quality mark for international employement.

2010

Bicycles

To ensure good and safe transport for the temporary workers, 400 FHS bicycles are purchased.

FHS Golf Day

The FHS Golf Day has been an annual tradition since 2010.

2011

Flower Parade

FHS is a loyal sponsor of the Bloemencorso (flower parade) by providing temporary workers for picking the flowers.

2011

Cor Egberts

Cor Egberts strengthens the FHS team, expanding the FHS network into the northern part of North Holland.

2011

Sponsor VVSB

FHS becomes a sub-sponsor of football club VVSB from Noordwijkerhout.

2012

SNF

Nico takes a seat on the College of Experts SNF (Stichting Normering Flexwonen, or the Standards for Flexible Housing Foundation).

2012

1,000 employees

FHS reaches a new milestone: 1000 employees at work.

2013

Flexwonen.nu

Working and living is separated... Flexwonen.nu is established.

2013

Progress

A major automation process is being implemented with the introduction of Plan4Flex and Nocore.

2014

Rensie Flex

Rensie Flex was acquired in 2014. This also represents the Dutch branch

2015

Low point

Unfortunately, there are also low points, with moments when dear employees pass away.

2016

Semi-Final

VVSB reaches the semifinals of the KNVB Cup and plays against FC Utrecht. All of Noordwijkerhout celebrates and proud sponsor FHS is big in the picture.

2016

“The Trampoline”

De Trampoline in Noordwijkerhout opened at the end of June with housing for 144 migrant workers.

2017

Main sponsor

Flexible Human Services becomes one of the three main sponsors of VVSB for the upcoming football seasons.

Really busy!

FHS sends out a new record of 1,800 employees.

2018

2,000 employees!

In 2018 another record number of employees more than 2,000 temporary workers are now working through Flexible Human Services. Temporary workers of more and more nationalities, Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia are represented.

2019

Flower Parade

The touring car rode in the Flower Parade with beautiful floral decorations to draw attention to the issue of housing migrant workers. The touring car, which FHS purchased in 2018, is used daily to take more than 60 people to and from work.

2020

Corona

The coronavirus breaks out. We set up our own testing facility, rent a hotel as a quarantine location, and vaccination days follow at the GGD (Municipal Health Service) but also at client locations. Day and night we are ready for clients and temporary workers to manage everything smoothly.

2020

Electric bicycles

In addition to our extensive fleet of cars, buses and a real FHS touring car, we also deploy bicycles on a daily basis. Since 2020, we have also deployed electric bicycles, much to the satisfaction of our temporary workers!

2021

Pension

Our first employees are retiring; two employees who have been with us since the beginning have retired.

2023

New Website

At the end of 2023, we launched a completely renewed website. This ensures we are ready for the future! Read more about the website here.

FHS Relation Day - Circuit Zandvoort

In 2024, we organized a soccer tournament at VVSB for all employees of FHS

The implementation of AFAS replaces our entire back office. This is an important step that fits perfectly with the future vision of FHS

We are replacing our recruitment software with Bullhorn, a significant step forward in automation capabilities
