Sunny atmosphere and sporty competition during FHS Summer Fest 2025
Last Saturday, June 21, VVSB in Noordwijkerhout was completely dedicated to the FHS Summer Fest. What a day it was! Under a bright sun and tropical temperatures, colleagues, family and friends enjoyed a pleasant, sporty and relaxed afternoon.
On the fields, teams competed fiercely for the win during the annual FHS football tournament. Just like last year, two strong teams faced each other again in the final. But this year it was Interhout who managed to take the cup in the last exciting minutes with a brilliant goal from De Stek. A great ending followed by a festive award ceremony, to loud cheers from the audience.
Extra respect for all the players, who, despite the 30 degrees, worked up a sweat with full dedication and made it a sporting spectacle. The team spirit, commitment and fair play were a joy to see.
The little ones were also thought of: they could jump on the bouncy castle, have their faces transformed with make-up or shine with a glitter tattoo. Around the large stretch tent, people fully enjoyed cool drinks, good music and delicious food from various food trucks. From fresh pizza to burgers, fries and snacks – there was something for everyone.
The atmosphere was great, the turnout was large and the smiles were even bigger. Stronger Together gained extra meaning on this summer day: colleagues from all corners came together to relax, catch up and have fun.
We would like to thank everyone who was there for their presence and enthusiasm. We are already looking forward to next year, on to an at least equally successful FHS Summer Fest 2026!
See below for the photos and aftermovie of this fantastic day.

Flexible Human Services launches completely revamped website
We are proud to announce today the official launch of our completely revamped website for Flexible Human Services, the leading employment agency that focuses on connecting candidates from the European Economic Area (EEA) with dynamic employers in various Industries. With the rapidly changing market and an increasing demand for flexible workers, it was time for a thorough renewal of our online presence.
The world of employment has evolved significantly in recent years. Finding the right candidates for the right positions has become a challenge that requires a modern and user-friendly approach. With our new website, we are even better able to meet the needs of both our clients and candidates. That's why we invested in a complete redesign and are launching our new website today.
What are the main features of our new website?
Focus on candidates We have redesigned our website with the candidates in mind. Job seekers can now more easily find vacancies that match their skills and wishes.
Improved user-friendliness Our website is now more intuitive and easier to navigate, allowing visitors to effortlessly access the information they need.
Responsive design Our new website is optimized for mobile devices. We have taken into account that more than 70% of the traffic to the website comes from a mobile device.
Information about the Netherlands We have also created a knowledge base about living and working in the Netherlands, covering topics such as healthcare, transportation, language, and integration. This allows everyone to thoroughly research life and work in the Netherlands.
Optimized application process Registering via the new website is very simple; only your name, phone number, and email address are required. Candidates will then receive an email in their own language with information and a link to their personal application form. This form has also been completely redesigned, making it more user-friendly and clearer.
Improved information provision Throughout the entire process, from registration to when someone is at work, we offer phased information. This often happens via emails and messages that are sent to the candidates and employees. This way, employees can come to the Netherlands well-prepared and receive important information at the right times.
We promise candidates to help them find a suitable job with the utmost dedication, and we also arrange the related matters smoothly and efficiently, all to make someone feel at home quickly. We encourage talents to develop further. We call that Talent to grow. That's how we grow together.
Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our valued relationships and employees for their continued support and trust in Flexible Human Services. Together, we will continue to grow and create opportunities in the ever-changing world of work.

"BOTH MAIN SPONSOR FLEXIBLE HUMAN SERVICES AND FOOTBALL CLUB VVSB HAVE RECENTLY CELEBRATED AN ANNIVERSARY. FHS IS 20 YEARS OLD THIS YEAR, AND VVSB CELEBRATED ITS 90TH ANNIVERSARY LAST YEAR. THE INTERVIEW WITH NATHALIE GEERLINGS (DIRECTOR OF FHS) AND SIMON LAROS (CHAIRMAN OF THE VVSB BUSINESS CLUB) REVEALS MANY SIMILARITIES!"
FHS is featured in a great article in VVSB's presentation magazine. Nathalie Geerlings (Director of FHS) and Simon Laros (Chairman of the VVSB business club) were interviewed for this to showcase the connection between the two.
Last weekend, the largest public event in the greenhouse horticulture sector took place again: 'Kom in de Kas', in the aalsmeer region. With 'Kom in de Kas', the greenhouse horticulture sector aims to present itself to the general public as a future-oriented professional sector. This included showcasing innovative lighting techniques, automated processes and industrial robots. There were also detailed explanations about techniques, working methods, different types of plants, and the opportunity to purchase plants. The Netherlands, our 'small country', is at the forefront of sustainability and efficiency in this sector, as demonstrated by the six participating companies. The following companies participated in 'Kom in de Kas 2022':
Nursery de Noordpoel | Poelweg 22 De Kwakel | Visually appealing Perennials
Bamboo Labyrinth Nirwana | Steenwycklaan 16 De Kwakel | bamboo maze and catering
Flexible Human Services also provides employees to this sector. The first four companies in the list are clients of Flexible Human Services. It is attractive work; you work with fresh products, and working with plants is different every day. Even people without green fingers will enjoy it. The sector is full of smart innovations and sustainable production methods. The greenhouse horticulture sector is even a world leader in this.
Flexible Human Services was once again a proud sponsor of Open Greenhouse Day this year.
Hooray! FHS 20 years!
Talent to …. Celebrate your 20th anniversary
Today is exactly 20 years since Flexible Human Services was founded.
Today, Flexible Human Services celebrates its 20th anniversary. This morning, all office employees were surprised with a festive welcome and we raised a toast! The celebration will continue throughout the day, with delightful culinary surprises.
After twenty years that have flown by, Flexible Human Services has grown into a professional employment agency for migrant workers. It now has all the disciplines in-house and is one of the largest employers in the Duin,- en Bollenstreek. Flexible Human Services provides work to more than 2000 temporary employees.
"I am super proud of where Flexible Human Services is now and of our enthusiastic team with whom this has been achieved," says Nico Geerlings, founder and owner of the company.
Started on February 28, 2002 in Noordwijkerhout. "In the beginning we had a group of 70 Polish temporary employees working for us. We arranged everything ourselves.
This includes planning, payroll, transportation, housing, and social support. Housing and transport have been managed for many years by a separate specialized company, Flexwonen.nu.
For all other disciplines, we have various departments, such as planning, recruitment, Social Guidance and payroll administration, where specialists are employed. In total 75 FTEs. It is nice to mention that a good number of these very first temporary employees are still working with us. They fulfill all kinds of functions, such as social guidance worker, team leader in planning or in the financial department. In addition, we also have a number of talents who have grown into recruiter.
We have also proven to be a reliable partner and consistent supplier to our clients. In these 20 years, we have hardly lost any clients, but we have gained approximately 100 more,” says Geerlings.
In a beautiful attached video you can see our Flexible Human Services timeline with noteworthy moments from the past 20 years.
Talent to…. continue
Share My Voice
Flexible Human Services is a proud partner of Share My Voice, an initiative of the Kenniscentrum Arbeidsmigranten (Knowledge Center for Labor Migrants). With the Share My Voice campaign, we want to create a more positive image of labor migrants in the Netherlands. Periodic research is also conducted among labor migrants. This time, the research is about the wishes and possibilities of labor migrants in the field of training and education and their future plans and ambitions in the Netherlands. We would like to find out what wishes and ambitions labor migrants have in the field of work, and how companies and governments can respond to this in order to attract and retain labor migrants. The research has also been distributed among our employees, because we think it is important that they also make their voices heard!
What does Share My Voice entail?
The Netherlands cannot function without labor migrants. Hundreds of thousands of labor migrants from all over the world work in the Netherlands, and many companies desperately need them. Yet, many Dutch people know little about labor migrants, and there is a lot of ignorance. There is also a lot of discussion about labor migrants, but hardly any with labor migrants themselves. That's why Share My Voice wants to give labor migrants a voice by conducting short surveys among them.
What do labor migrants think about the Netherlands?
Labor migrants are of great importance to the Netherlands. However, their opinions, feelings, and experiences are rarely listened to. As a result, the voice of the labor migrant is not heard. That is why Share My Voice was founded. Share My Voice is an independent research panel by and for labor migrants. Through Share my Voice, short surveys are conducted to give labor migrants a voice, so that we can help companies and governments with new knowledge and better decision-making.
Share your opinion too!
For our latest research, we need your help! Participate in this short survey and let your voice be heard! The survey is about training and education at work and your future plans, in the Netherlands or abroad. Share your opinion and experiences and participate!
Help improve the work and living conditions of labor migrants and let your voice be heard via www.sharemyvoice.nl!
Independent research
Share My Voice is commissioned by Het Kenniscentrum Arbeidsmigranten: an independent foundation focused on developing and collecting knowledge about labor migrants. All kinds of research are conducted among labor migrants, for example, on working conditions, housing, integration, ambitions, and future prospects. With this, we want to better inform citizens, companies, governments, and other parties about labor migrants. This gives them more knowledge, which allows them to better connect with, engage, and retain labor migrants, and make better decisions. For example, other, cheaper forms of housing, more development opportunities at work, and a better image among Dutch people.
FHS in VVSB presentation magazine
'VVSB is a club after my own heart'
Noordwijkerhout – grown and become big, but always stayed at home. This is typical of Nico Geerlings. That is why VVSB suits him so well. They are similar: the entrepreneur and the football club. The growth of his company FHS went almost in sync with the rise of VVSB in amateur football. Grown big by working very hard, but always with both feet on Noordwijkerhout soil.
His experience and way of working over the past 19 years determine the success of FHS, now and in the future. Nico Geerlings is the founder of Flexible Human Services. Together with his brothers, he ran the agricultural family business. Faced with scarcity in the Dutch labor market, he was one of the first to see the opportunity to bring hardworking Polish people to the Netherlands and help them find work with various clients. This is how Flexible Human Services was founded in 2002. From the beginning, Flexible Human Services cared for the vulnerable people. It was a matter of course that they provided good conditions in the areas of work, housing, guidance, training, insurance and transport for their own people. But Nico Geerlings also made sure that he was at the table with municipalities, governments and industry-related consultation structures to stand up for the labor migrant in general. In 2002, FHS started with around 70 employees, and after 19 years, the company has grown into an organization where approximately 2,000 people work daily. Healthy growth was and is necessary to be able to guarantee the quality that is now offered in the future.
VVSB experienced something similar. Within that period, VVSB rose from a modest village association to a well-known amateur club. Naturally, the highlight was reaching the semi-finals of the KNVB Cup tournament exactly 5 years ago. Nico, born and raised in Noordwijkerhout, has always supported VVSB with his company, as a supporter and certainly also as a sponsor. He is slowly daring to hand over the daily management within his company to, among others, his daughter Nathalie, although he will never really stop working completely. "No way, I still enjoy it far too much! Working with young and talented people keeps me young. But it's good that Nathalie is taking over the daily management at FHS, together with a young and dynamic management team. She is ready to keep FHS ahead of the curve," says Nico. Nathalie: "I am proud of the company that my father has built up in a relatively short time. FHS wants to be so much more than just an employment agency.
We aim to take care of concerns, excel in our areas of expertise, share with others, and ensure that everyone within FHS complements and strengthens each other. This approach allows us to achieve optimal solutions for both the long and short term. I am committed to working hard on this with our FHS team in the coming years.”
A smile appears on Nico's face when we talk about the remarkable cup adventure of 'his' VVSB. "The quarter-final against Den Bosch and the semi-final in the Galgenwaard against FC Utrecht are etched in my memory. But you know what I secretly find most beautiful? Standing on the sidelines at the Boekhorst sports park, watching a training session or a game of my youngest son Jesse! Seeing the joy that the Noordwijkerhout youth get from football, no cup success can top that for me! Of course, during that period, all the experience of the players and the knowledge within VVSB came together, in my opinion. Just like in my company, actually: core values such as talent development, team spirit, togetherness, and being there for others are also highly valued within FHS. I wish that for VVSB too, and that's why I recently extended my sponsorship contract with VVSB with pleasure; VVSB is a club after my heart.”
At FHS we always have an eye for talent: anyone who wants to grow can really grow within our company! VVSB has the same in mind: giving talented football players, preferably from Noordwijkerhout, the space to grow to a certain level. We want to work hard together for that. With Peet van der Slot, Wout Heemskerk and Tijs Knapp there are again a few real Noordwijkerhout boys in the selection. Hopefully more young talents will be able to join the Sunday selection in the long term. I would certainly applaud it," Growing and becoming big, but
and at the beautiful and renovated sports park de Boekhorst. Nico and Nathalie Geerlings are happy to put their signature on it.

Campaign featuring a well-known Polish temporary worker!
In the Netherlands, everyone has now had the opportunity to be vaccinated. For the group of migrant workers who live and work in the Netherlands, it is more difficult to make an appointment, partly because they usually do not have a DigiD and often do not have sufficient command of the Dutch and English languages. For this group, the GGD, in collaboration with employers, has made group appointments possible. We, Flexible Human Services, seize this opportunity with both hands, because the health of our employees is our top priority and, moreover, vaccination is our way out of this pandemic. We want to encourage as many temporary employees as possible to get vaccinated. In addition to a special page on our website with information about the corona virus in various languages and an extensive social guidance team that is currently working day in day out on the vaccination process, we are also campaigning to encourage our temporary employees to get vaccinated. We regularly send messages with information and vaccination options, we post messages on Social Media and last weekend, with the permission of GGD Hollands-Midden, we recorded a video about how the vaccination process works. Adrian Nkwamu, proclaimed the 1st Vice Mister of Poland in Poland, and our temporary employee, appears as an ambassador in this video.
We have a collaboration with various GGD regions, and in the meantime, over 400 temporary workers have been helped by us in getting vaccinated by the GGD. As our temporary workers are accustomed to, we assist where necessary, including making this appointment and providing transportation. We drive from the head of North Holland to South Holland and from the coast to Utrecht to offer everyone the opportunity. In this way, we try to keep it attractive and accessible for our temporary workers. Every weekend, we are on the road with coaches and FHS vans, all with face masks on, of course, to bring everyone who has an appointment to the GGD vaccination locations! On location, questions can be asked to an FHS contact person, and a GGD interpreter is present. Whether our temporary workers get vaccinated is always their own choice! If they want to, we make it as easy as possible for them!
We are proud of these developments and are already busy with the next group that can be vaccinated this weekend. Talent to… work together!
Share My Voice: make yourself heard
Flexible Human Services has recently joined this initiative to contribute to a more positive image of labor migrants in the Netherlands. The Netherlands cannot do without labor migrants. Hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world work in our country to keep the economy running. Companies from various Industries, from logistics to ICT, rely on these valuable workers. Yet, many Dutch people still know little about labor migrants, and there is a lot of ignorance. Moreover, there is mostly talk about labor migrants, but hardly with labor migrants. That is why The Knowledge Center for Labor Migrants launched the independent research panel #sharemyvoice to give labor migrants a voice.
What do labor migrants think about the Netherlands?
Labor migrants are of great importance to the Netherlands. However, their opinions, feelings, and experiences are rarely listened to. As a result, the voice of the labor migrant is not heard. That is why Share My Voice was founded. Share My Voice is an independent research panel that consists entirely of labor migrants. It is a panel by and for labor migrants. Short surveys are conducted among the members of the panel to hear the perspective of labor migrants. This way, we can help companies and governments with new knowledge and better decision-making.
Share your opinion too!
For our latest research, we also need your help. Let us know what is important to you, share your experiences, and give your opinion on all kinds of current topics that are important to you, your family, friends, and colleagues. This time, the research is about healthcare, training and education, and future prospects. Participate and speak out about topics that are important to you.

Another group of temporary workers vaccinated!
In recent weeks, we have reached a milestone: over 300 temporary workers have been vaccinated at once. As our temporary workers are accustomed to, we assist where necessary, including making this appointment and providing transportation. We have been driving to the vaccination location for a number of weekends in a row with multiple coaches and FHS vans, of course with face masks on! It is a step in the right direction and the way out of this pandemic! This group vaccination was made possible by GGD Haaglanden and GGD Hollands-Noorden, and we would like to thank them for this! We also want to thank all our colleagues who are doing everything they can to make this possible again! Talent to… work together!
Partner 'Migrant Work Works!'
We are proud to have joined the 'Labor Migration Works!' campaign as a partner. This campaign focuses on introducing people to labor migrants in the Netherlands. There is a lot of talk about labor migrants, but little or no conversation with them. The Ontmoet de Arbeidsmigrant foundation aims to show who these people are and that labor migration helps us all if we organize it well. Flexible Human Services and Flexwonen.nu are happy to support this campaign and want to contribute to a more positive image of labor migrants in the Netherlands. Would you like to know more about this campaign? Contact us or visit the website of Arbeidsmigratie Werkt!
Talent to… support!
Talent to… support! We proudly “support” football club VVSB! Searching for talents is one of the things we have in common with VVSB. When recruiting candidates, we are looking for the right person for the right job. Everyone gets the chance to develop their talent here, because where talents are developed, the best comes out! We also encourage self-development by offering language, first aid, VCA, and forklift courses. FHS has an eye for talent: those who are good at their job and show potential are given the space to grow. For example, an employee from the production line grew into a team leader; a temporary worker in the flower bulbs to an office worker, and a cleaner to a recruiter. So plenty of opportunities to grow, as long as you work hard for it yourself!
ABU Fair Recruitment Code
The General Association of Temporary Employment Agencies (ABU) has created a code for its members, the 'ABU Fair Employment Code for migrant workers,' which aims to contribute to greater security for migrant workers, fair competition, and a level playing field in the industry.
We are affiliated with the ABU, which means we adhere to this code. There are four pillars that play a role in the code: work, housing, registration, and safe and healthy working conditions. We ensure independent monitoring of the correct application of laws and regulations. We also ensure that our temporary workers are clearly and correctly informed about working and living in the Netherlands. Read the entire Fair Recruitment Code here.
What does an employment agency actually involve?
At Flexible Human Services, we recruit motivated, foreign temporary employees. We deploy these temporary employees daily to our clients in the agricultural sector, logistics, production, food industry and technology.
In addition to the work planning for the more than 2000 temporary employees we employ, we also take care of transportation and housing. To maintain an overview of the planning, we use Plan4Flex. With this software, we can also process time registration, send messages to our temporary employees, and easily retrieve reports and analyses.
Our temporary employees have the P4F app with their own account. This allows them to view their schedule at any time, send messages to, for example, HR, and receive messages. In addition, documents are stored here and they can sign them digitally.
Talent to… celebrate!
Hooray! Flexible Human Services is celebrating exactly 19 years in the international employment sector today! What started in 2002 as a small, close-knit team has grown into a professional organization over the past 19 years. We can't let this pass without thanking everyone. Our employees, temporary workers, clients, and you, our readers!
Talent to… celebrate!
Flexible Human Services congratulates Flexwonen.nu!
Flexwonen.nu has obtained the SNF certificate again!
Flexwonen.nu rents out and manages high-quality locations for migrant workers and strives to set an example for good and sound housing for migrant workers. A good place to stay contributes to happier, healthier and more productive workers. Clear house rules and good management ensure that everyone can live together in a pleasant way in the area.
The housing locations have been assessed and certified by SNF, Stichting Normering Flexwonen. SNF has the expertise to certify, check and enforce in a professional manner and SNF is the partner for municipalities and employers in the housing of labor migrants. The SNF quality mark sets the standard in terms of space, privacy, sanitary facilities, safety and hygiene.
Also at home in transport
At Flexible Human Services, we have a large fleet of vehicles. Every day, our drivers transport employees to and from work. Besides cars and vans, we also have a touring car. The touring car drives from the top of North Holland all the way to the bollenstreek to transport the employees. It is a challenge to keep all these vehicles under control. Ctrack is an organization that helps us with this. Would you like to know more? Watch the interview with René Does, Transport Manager here.
Flexible Human Services looks ahead!
A new year means a fresh start for many people, especially considering the past year. Many people are happy to draw a thick line through 2020 and are ready for a new beginning! That includes good resolutions, of course. Every day can be January 1st for you. You don't necessarily have to wait for a new year or a specific date; you can start NOW with good plans.
Specific, Realistic, Measurable, Acceptable and Time-bound. A good resolution (business or private) works well for the longer term. This also applies to any other objective: Be specific and realistic; make the goal measurable, acceptable, and time-bound. If you can determine whether a goal is realistic, you will then have to make that goal specific. This makes it a lot clearer what you actually need to do to achieve it. Specific goals are also more motivating and achievable than vague goals.
Hopefully you will be inspired. FHS also challenges other companies to announce their good intentions for 2021.
We wish everyone happy holidays and a wonderful and healthy 2021!
Have you seen our Christmas video yet? Watch it here!
Talent comes in all forms, and you can recognize it by a number of characteristics:
Talent is innate and there is a natural aptitude: in short, you were born with it
It is a gift or there is a special aptitude
You gain skills through experience, you acquire knowledge, but you develop talents because you already had them when you were in the cradle
At Flexible Human Services, we listen carefully to our people. We believe in letting people do what they are good at; the right people in the right place.
During these Christmas days, we wish you a pleasant time to be together with family and friends, to rest and hopefully discover that everyone has the talent to sparkle, shine and glimmer.
